Meet Meagan, the Clinician behind the Character!
Meagan Jones, LPCC, LCADC, is the creative mind behind the magic that has come to be known as Coral Koi. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Sciences degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a dual-licensed therapist, with a specialization in substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation. Previously, Meagan worked in inpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment for military and civilian patients, creating evidence-based holistic healing curriculum. For the past three years, Meagan has supported the armed forces and families of Fort Campbell, KY. as a federal contractor providing mental health services.
Meagan is a seasoned character performer who boasts a wealth of experience in creating award-winning costumes and delivering captivating performances spanning over a decade. Recently crowned the Monarch of Atlantis 2022-2023 title by the esteemed Monarch International organization, she uses her platform and expertise as a licensed therapist to promote mental health and wellness through the power of creative expression and play. In addition to being the President of the Nashville Mermaid Pod, Meagan has also authored the Mindfulness for Mermaids published short series, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to serving her community.
